Being a Registered Training Organisation,
The Island offers nationally accredited training in its various workshops, giving students the opportunity to complete a Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) in their chosen field.

This qualification is the employer’s guarantee that the student has developed industry skills with practical hands-on experience.

Interested parents or employers can call to arrange a meeting and discussion of the implications of the VCAL for them.

Students participating in VCAL at The Island have the opportunity to complete a full VCAL as well as a pre-apprenticeship course in their chosen field. For those who are unsure what pathway to take The Island offers these tasters to facilitate choice.
