Advert: Workshop – Planting a Bush Food Garden

Edible indigenous food plants are not only beautiful and functional, they are most often incredibly drought tolerant and grow easily in their local region. Join experienced gardener Wendy van Dort as she goes through some of the basic concepts of garden design, shows you how to confidently plan and plant a bush food home garden, and learn how Indigenous people used to eat. You’ll discuss the medicinal as well as nutritional value of native foods, gain hands-on experience in planting a bush food garden, and understand the concepts of plant placement and requirements, soil conditions and mulching.

  • When: Saturday 25 August, 10:00am–1:00pm
  • Where: Kitchen Garden Foundation Learning Centre at Collingwood College, Cnr Cromwell Street & McCutcheon Way, Collingwood
  • Price: $65 (discounted for Kitchen Garden Schools and Program Subscribers)
