Chinese Cultural Day 2012

Our 2012 Chinese Cultural Day was on Wednesday, 15 Sept.

Students from Year 1-9 were all actively involved in the activities. Year 5-9 students designed their own kites in their Art and Chinese classes and flied on the Cultural Day. It was a fine day with wind, which was perfect for the kites flying. Students enjoyed their own kites flying.

In addition to the kites, Year 4/5 Steiner class made the spring rolls for the whole school staff. This was their first time to make the spring rolls at Collingwood College and were really excited about the activity. They were singing the Chinese songs while making the food. The spring rolls were a great hit with the staff! Our other classes also did different Chinese cultural activities in class, such as making the shuttlecocks for playing, Chinese calligraphy and Chinese paintings. Overall, the whole school had a good time on the Chinese Cultural Day!

Thank you very much for all the supports, especially to the Art Department teachers and our Chinese studentteachers and assistants. We are not be able to get all these activities done successfully without these helpers.
