Spring Fair & Open Day

Sunday 21st October –  11am to 4pm

Every year our school community comes together to put on our Spring Fair. It’s an opportunity for our students to shine with music performances from soloists and class orchestras as well an interschool Battle of the Bands. Student artwork will be on display and classrooms will be open for visitors to learn more about the education programs on offer at the school.  Tours of the school will be available from 11am.

This year we’re running a handmade, organic and second hand market as well as our traditional home made food and lemonade stalls. We welcome anyone from businesses and groups to individuals and groups of friends to sell their wares. The application form can be downloaded from this page.

There will be wildlife talks and an opportunity to hold a crocodile or a snake or a wombat. If that’s not your thing the animal nursery will be bringing fluffy rabbits, guinea pigs and goats to cuddle! You’ll be able to get a tattoo, ride a Harley, climb an abseiling wall, jump on a bungee trampoline and try your luck in the crate stacking competition. For younger children there’s puppet making, face painting and an eye spy colouring competition. It’s a day crammed full of good food fun and good friends all raising money for our school.

The Spring Fair is an event that needs contributions from the whole school. If you can help grade 3 ask for products and services for the auctions, donations letters are available from the office.

Springtime is traditionally a time for a clean out, so if that’s planned for your home, please consider donating books, clothing and other household items to our second hand market which is raising money for our disadvantaged students fund. Donations can be left in the outside the Parents Association Kitchen in the Canteen, the grade 2s will take it from there!

If you like to sew or knit – or would like to learn, the Beehive Craft Group meets every Wednesday at 9am in the Canteen to help the Preps make toys and jewellery for the Made with Love stall, students are welcome and take home kits are available.

In the week leading up to the Fair there will be a lot of baking needed for the cake and Chai stalls and the Devonshire Tea so if you can make a cake, some biscuits or scones or come along to the baking day on Friday 19th October at 9am in the main kitchen, years 5 and  7s would love to hear from you.

On the day, we need some extra help so if you can make a decent coffee or can spare an hour to help with a kebab stall, we would love to hear from you. Every class is running a stall and rosters will be available before the end of term 3. You can lend your support to any stall, so please come along to help for an hour or two and then stay and play for the day.
