Canteen Message

Hi All

The end of Term 1 has certainly come around quickly!  At the end of this

week, we will have provided breakfast, morning tea and lunch for 8 and a

half weeks.

Generally we have been able to anticipate demand so that wastage is kept to

a minimum.  Vegetable scraps have been fed to the chickens (or where they

have already had an elegant sufficiency, added to the compost) and coffee

grounds have been added to the compost.  Unfortunately we have not been

able to successfully include the noodle boxes in the compost system,

although they will decompose in landfill.

As this week is a short week, the “theme” for each day will be:****

– Meat free Monday – vegetable fried rice, vegetable Singapore noodles,

stir fried vegetables, vegetarian pasta****

– Pasta & Noodle Tuesday – vegetarian pasta, pasta Bolognese, vegetable

Singapore noodles (grilled chicken optional)****

– Rice & Roll Wednesday – vegetable fried rice (grilled chicken

optional), vegetable rice noodles (grilled chicken optional), stir fried

vegetables, chicken schnitzel & salad rolls, lamb & tsatsiki rolls****

– Feast Thursday – pasta Bolognese, vegetable fried rice (grilled

chicken optional), vegetable Singapore noodles (grilled chicken optional),

stir fried vegetables, chicken schnitzel & salad rolls, lamb & tsatsiki

rolls ****

Small noodle boxes are $4, large noodle boxes are $5, plates are $6 and

rolls are $5.  Parents and guardians can pre-order lunch and/or morning tea

for Primary School children either by coming to the Canteen in the morning

or via the lunch order basket system that some classes have in place.

I will send another email before the start of Term 2 once the menu for Term

2 has been finalised.

Thank you for supporting us.

If you have any questions, please come and see me at Canteen or send me an

email at

Yours sincerely,
