Count Down to the Future

Who is ready for the next stage of our students’ lives? For VCE students the count down is beginning to the final examinations All classes will be working through the last of the course content and be looking ahead to exam practice. The pressure is considerable to perform or just to keep up.


Study Stress

Stress is part of wanting success and dreading failure. And because stress is inevitable we want to recommend that each student accepts that there is stress and that it comes along with valuing an education at this level. We just want them to try their best and to ask for help through subject  teachers and their tutors.


Choosing courses for Tertiary Study

VTAC evening. We held a Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) information session for VCE students last Thursday, presented by Lisa Owens who is our careers counselor. For those who could not attend, information will be provided. They can register now at


Subject choices in 2014 for VCE

VCE and VET. Prior to the VTAC session, again on a Thursday evening, Lisa spoke to parents from years 9 and 10 about VCE and Vocational Education and Training (VET) opportunities. VET counts towards VCE and for some students a VET subject is the right choice for finding practical training in areas of interest, which could lead to a future career.


Parent teacher Interviews

On Thursday this week at Fitzroy High School parents and students are invited to three way conferences with the teacher of VCE subjects.  A booking can be made as follows:

You can return to the site at any time and change or print your bookings.


Assembly for years 7-10

An assembly will be held on Wednesday 14th August in the Theatre at 11.10.

There will be musical items from Steiner 7s and the Song writing Elective and a presentation from 9As ARC program as well as from the Animation Elective. There will be a Sports report and a presentation for the 40 hour famine.
