Spring Fair News – 27 August

Spring Fair Meeting Time Change This Week Only!

5pm – 6:15pm in the Canteen

Due to the changes to the Primary School hours and performances this Friday, the meeting has been rescheduled to Friday afternoon.

Hopefully those parents who are unable to come along on Friday mornings will be able to come along with any questions or feedback.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

Thank you to the Barrerra Villamizar family who has very generously donated 50kg of premium Basmati rice for the curry stall.

Thanks too, to Jan Finlay who for the third year now has provided the blue tea towels you find in the Parents Association Kitchen. It’s an amazing help that has saved us a fortune! Thank you.

And to all of those people who have volunteered to translate some of the key information about the Fair into Arabic, Turkish, Mandarin and Vietnamese.

We’re looking forward to being able to better inform and engage those families in our community who might feel that language is a barrier to enjoying Spring Fair.

Grade 3 & 4 Spring Fair Shared Dinner

Steiner and Reggio grades 3 and 4 would like to invite their families to get together for a shared dinner to plan the Auctions and Curry Stall at the Fair.

It’s a lovely opportunity for the grade fours that ran the auctions last year to pass on their knowledge and experience to the current grade 3s and for everyone to plan their stalls.

If you have curry recipes you’d like to share, please bring them along.

Thursday 5 September

From 5pm (after the Market)

R3/4 room (above the R Prep room on the first floor)

Children welcome – drawing activities and stories will be provided

Please bring a plate of food to share

Curry Stall Recipes!

When the canteen changed hands at the end of last year, sadly the recipes went too. We desperately need your tried and tested recipes for flavoured rice, dhal and curries! Vegetarian preferred.

Please email your recipes to collingwoodcollegespringfair@gmail.com as soon as possible.

Craft Group

If you feel like getting together over some hand sewing or needle felting and a cup of tea, please come along to the Craft group. Bring your own project or work on something provided.

If you aren’t confident of your crafting skills but would like to get involved and pick up some tips, there’s plenty of cutting out and labeling to do, so please come along!

THIS WEEK:

Wednesday 28 August , Steiner Playgroup Room, 1pm – 2:45pm

NEXT WEEK:

Tuesday 3 September, Canteen, 9am – 11am

Thursday 5 September, Canteen, 9am – 11am

If you prefer to craft at home, donations of handmade items can be dropped into the Craft Group.

Henna Tattoos at the Fair

Do you know how to apply Henna tattoos? Would you be willing to practice your craft at the Fair?

We’re looking for 4 people who might like to work together running a stall at the Fair.

Please email Tina on collingwoodcollegespringfair@gmail.com or speak to your class teacher if you can help.

Calling bands and performers for the Fair

Are you one of the very talented parents who play in a band?

Would you be willing to play a set or two in the big marquee on the day of the Fair? Or perhaps you’d like to busk in the indigenous garden near the Secondhand Market or at the Children’s Café in the Children’s Garden?

If you would like to perform – or have friends who would like to perform, please email Tina oncollingwoodcollegespringfair@gmail.com

Thank you all again for your wonderful support, see you Friday.

Kind regards,

Tina Wilkins
