International Students Snow Trip

On Tuesday August 20, 2013, a group of our International Students had a snow trip at the Lake Mountain Resort. We planned to go last year but the trip was cancelled due to bad weather. This year the planned date was changed once and once again because we have been having a warm August. Even on our way to Lake Mountain, we were still worrying about whether the snow there would be good enough for snow play and tobogganing. But our worries slowly melted away as we travelled closer to Lake Mountain. We picked the right date and the weather was unbelievably beautiful, not windy at all, but very snowy. Lake Mountain was deeply covered with pure, soft , delicate and sparking snow. It was like a fantasy land.

7 students out of the group hadn’t seen snow before, so you can imagine how excited they were. They were singing, dancing, humming to themselves in the snow, tobogganing and also playing ‘snow tricks’ on each other.   It was so great to see them enjoying their time. When it was time to travel back, many of them mentioned that they didn’t want to leave. Linh said that she didn’t want to travel back to the real world and that she wanted to stay in her dream world. Louis joked that it was so beautiful that he definitely would travel there again with his kids some years later. Charles said it was fascinatingthat only around 100km away from the city, the scenery was completely different, like two distinct worlds and  that he had started to agree that Australia was the most beautiful country in the world.

I would like to thank Dale for driving the students and for make the trip so successful.
