Big Marquee – succession planning!

We desperately need a succession plan for the putting up of the big marquee, the people who’ve been putting it up, have done so for the last 10 or 11 years!

These families will be leaving the school over the next couple of years and if we don’t share the knowledge now, one of our most valuable assets will be wasted.

We need as many people as possible to come along early on Saturday morning to learn how it’s done! The marking out starts at 8:30am and the heavy work starts at 9. You’ll be finished by 11:30 with time for a nap before lunch!

Cake Bags are in your child’s school bag!

We had a great turn out for the baking day yesterday but we still need your help! The cake stall is HUGE!

Please bake for our Fair – biscuits, cakes, tarts, pastries! The only rule is NO RAW DAIRY.

Cake bags were sent home with students (youngest child in the family) yesterday (Tuesday). So please check the school bags! (Thanks Liria Stratus and the year 7 students!)

There are left over donations of flour, eggs etc in the Parents Association Kitchen, if you’re willing to bake for the school, please drop in to take what you need.

Kylie Wilkinson (R prep & 2) had the instructions translated and copies have been given to the teachers. If you know someone who may need information in a language other than English please let them know the information is available in Mandarin, Vietnamese and Arabic. (Thanks Kylie!)

Donations can be left in the Parents Association Kitchen off the canteen:

·       8am – 4pm, Friday 18 October

·       8am – 5pm, Saturday 19 October

·       8am – 10am, Sunday 20 October

Principal’s Carpark Closed Thursday from 7am

The Fete Collective shipping container is arriving sometime on Thursday and the truck needs full access toDale’s Car Park off Cromwell St. It’s booked to arrive early and the car park will re-open once the container is delivered.

Apologies for any inconvenience.

Anyone For A Sleep Over on Saturday night?

To save on security costs, we ask families to sleep over at the school on the Saturday night before the Fair. Having people and lights in the building is enough to provide security overnight. It also means that the pizza oven fire can be kept alight. Dinner will be provided.

If you’re able to help, please email Elizabeth Collins urgently libbycollins4@gmail.com

OR Would You Like To Hide From Spring Fair?

There are a number of secret and mysterious things that happen behind the scenes at Spring Fair. If you’d like to hide away from the hustle and bustle but would still like to help, please email Tina as soon as possible at collingwoodcollegespringfair@gmail.com

Empty Rosters = Stress + More Stress!

Please don’t let your class’ stall coordinators freak out!

Now that I’ve probably shown my age again, can you all please put your name on a roster to help out on Fair Day.

Your stall coordinators have generously donated their time to organize your class stall. Please show your appreciation by putting your name on the roster for an hour or two.

Remember students are encouraged to participate so please encourage your children to volunteer on a stall and help them remember to turn up!

I urgently need to find people who are willing to help for a couple of hours on Fair Day on the following stalls. Please choose an hour or two from the times listed.

1.     Coffee machine (in the canteen), 3pm – 4pm

2.     Coffee machine (on the oval), 10am – 5pm

3.     Bar (in the big marquee), 10am – 5pm
4.     SAKGF stall (next to the cake stall on the oval), 1pm – 5pm
5.     Kebab stall, 9am – 5pm

Please text your name, hours you can work, and stall to Tina on 0438 176 635 or emailcollingwoodcollegespringfair@gmail.com as soon as possible.

Equipment Needed for Fair Day!

There are a couple of things we can’t source from the Fete Collective, please let me know if you can help!

·       Large & Medium Eskis x 8

·       Two burner electric hot plate
·       Bum bags x 10
·       Cup cake stands

We also need clean empty tomato sauce bottles!

Please make sure your items are clearly labeled with your name & telephone number and leave them in the Parents Association Kitchen off the Canteen.

Everything will be returned to the Parents Association Kitchen on Sunday night ready for collection on Monday.
