WE ARE BACK!  Refreshed and ready for another fun filled year at Collingwood College.

2013 was our first year as Canteen Operators at Collingwood College and it was enormously rewarding for us personally.  2013 was also enormously challenging for us in terms of understanding and responding to the needs of staff, students and parents, but also financially.  After reviewing our accounts, we have made some adjustments that should be fair for everyone.

Lunch will be available in small boxes (360 ml) for $4, medium boxes (500 ml) for $5 and large boxes (650ml) for $6.  Chicken will still be an optional extra for $1 from Tuesday to Friday.  Savoury scones (not available on Mondays) will be $2.50.  Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are available for $3 (small hot chocolates are available for $2).  Soy milk is available for an additional 50 cents.  Please note, caffeinated drinks are only available to students studying VCE, staff and parents.

Toasties, fruit salad cups, Anzac biscuits will still be available for $1 each, muffins will still be available for $2 each.

Canteen is open from 8am to 2pm for breakfast, morning tea and lunch.  Our aim is to provide students and staff with fresh, nourishing food at reasonable prices.  A variety of seasonal fruit and vegetables are included in our meals and the meat we use is Halal.  Cold drinks are not available at Canteen as water fountains are located throughout the school grounds.  Choice organic waste is distributed to the lovely chooks; the rest is put into the Kitchen Garden compost along with coffee grounds and tea.

Breakfast is served from 8am.  Toasted sandwiches (cheese or cheese & tomato), toast with jam or Vegemite, porridge, muesli, WeetBix are available for $1 each. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are available for $3 (small hot chocolates are available for $2).  Soy milk is available for an additional 50 cents.
At Morning Tea time, toasted sandwiches, fruit salad cups and Anzac biscuits are available for $1 each.  Muffins are $2 each and savory scones (not available on Mondays) are $2.50 each.
At Lunchtime, meals are served in small boxes for $4, medium boxes for $5 and large boxes for $6.  Filled bread rolls are available on Wednesdays for $5.50.  Please note, chicken is an optional extra at $1 (not available on Mondays).  Toasted sandwiches, fruit salad cups, Anzac biscuits and scones are also available at lunchtimes.
The theme for each day and menu examples are as follows:
Meat-free Monday – Pasta Napoli, Mixed Vegetables with Egg Noodles or Ginger Rice, Grain & vegetable salad
Pasta & Noodle Tuesday – Pasta Bolognese, Singapore Noodles, Mac’N’Cheese, Pasta salad
Rice & Rolls Wednesday – Vegetable Fried Rice, Vegetable Rice Noodles, Vegetable Risotto, Chicken Schintzel & Salad Roll, Vietnamese rice noodle salad
Rice & Pasta Thursday – Pasta Bolognese, Vegetable Fried Rice, Pasta with roast pumpkin, spinach & feta, Vegetable Risotto, Mixed Vegetable salad
Favourites on Friday – Pasta Bolognese, Vegetable Fried Rice, Singapore Noodles, Salad of some sort.
