SRC TRAINING DAY …….An Extraordinary Experience!

Over the last few years it has been extraordinary the number of students that have shown an interest in the Collingwood College SRC. It is wonderful to see so many students that are conscious about their school community and thinking about the contributions they can be actively making to make life good for other students. The final count for SRC representatives for 2014 is around forty students. Teachers have reported how eager students were to be a part of the SRC and in many classes elections have been run to democratically elect the representative for the class. Great speeches were penned and thoughtful, articulate speeches were presented.

On Monday the SRC had their first Training Day where most of the students attended the Yarra Community Centre for a fun day of team building activities, goal setting and reflective moments of the past, present and future SRC directions. It was certainly an unqualified success, with students really enthusiastic about how they were going to make 2014 the best SRC year of all.

Many activities and events were thought about and every SRC representative contributed their thoughts and ideas. The first event will be Crazy Hair Day  in support of the Leukaemia Society next week…(the SRC have not decided on the actual date yet…but Thursday, 13th March seems to be the one) and the Publicity Committee will be organising posters and information  for students to take note of.

So after a really fantastic day, the SRC are ready to have a pro-active, successful year!
