Urgent! Working Bees – Please Help

Over the past 3 weeks, we’ve had a lot of the structural work done to achieve the proposed new playground elements for the junior play space. We’re about to commence a series of working bees to fill in the gaps, with the aim of having the majority of the work completed in time for the Spring Fair.

The proposed working bee dates are listed below (starting next Saturday 26th July, and fortnightly until the end of the term):

Date Key proposed tasks
1 Saturday 26th July  –          Getting measurements of the exact structural post locations allowing smaller teams to undertake detailed design of all of the individual parts of the play space.-          Constructing the accessible earth ramp that will join with the decking ramp at the eastern end of the play space.

–          Start on the construction of framing for simple decking elements (where no additional design work is required).

2 Saturday 9th August  –          Implementing detailed designs of all of the individual parts of the play space
3 Saturday 23rd August  –          Implementing detailed designs of all of the individual parts of the play space
4 Saturday 6th September  –          Implementing detailed designs of all of the individual parts of the play space-          Making any modifications based upon a safety audit of the play space by a qualified auditor.

A fortnight after the 4th working bee, the school holidays commence. There is only one weekend (11-12th October) between the return to school and the Spring Fair, with this weekend prior to the Spring Fair being a clean up/preparation working bee.

I’ve also attached a copy of the latest drawings for the space: Junior School Garden drawing
