After School Arrangements for Primary School Students

A Reminder About Expectations

School finishes at 3pm and parents should make arrangements for their children to be collected at this time.  There is a staff member on yard duty around the front oval area and at 3:15, students that have not been collected at this time will be asked to go to the office, where parents will be called to make sure they are on their way.  Teachers are still at school after 3pm but we use this time to schedule appointments with parents or attend meetings.  We do suggest that if you think there is a possibility of being late at some stage, that you fill in an After School Hours Care registration form.  Even if you never use it, your child will then be able to access After Care if needed.

Students in Year 5 and 6 who catch trains/buses/walk should take the opportunity to leave at 3pm with other students from the school.  If they stay after school they will be asked to leave at 3:15 when other students who remain at school without supervision are taken to the office.

The main gate to the front oval area will be locked at about 3:25 when the teacher finishes yard duty.  It is important that After Care have the space at that time to start their outside programs.

If your child is going home in a different way than usual, it is helpful to let their teacher know – by text or email or note; if things go wrong, or students need help, the teacher is then in a position to facilitate their journey home!
