Collingwood is a diverse inner-city suburb and the College community reflects its environs.

Many students and their families also come from suburbs further afield to take advantage of the school’s programs.

The College Community is a warm and welcoming one that works hard to provide a positive and inclusive environment for students, staff and parents.

The school is almost as busy on weekends as it is during the week, as College facilities can be hired.

Gyms are used by local sporting clubs and the teaching facilities by the Victorian School of Languages.

Local schools and other community groups often use the theatre and other facilities.

Collingwood College enjoys strong support from its parent and local community, and we would like to thank all our supporters for their untiring contributions over the years.

If you would like to support Collingwood, there are several ways you can really make a difference:

  • Make a tax deductible donation to the College Building Fund
  • to help out with the Kitchen Garden or other programs, or to sponsor or donate goods for our Spring Fair and fundraising activities

If you have any further queries about supporting or volunteering at Collingwood College, please contact Stan Pamieta, Principal’s Personal Assistant.

Many parents and members of the community volunteer their time freely to support programs at the College.

Volunteers help with the Kitchen Garden program, either in the garden or in the kitchen.

Local residents who were previously teachers, as well as many parents, also make an invaluable contribution in classrooms.

All volunteers working with children must pass a Working with Children Check.

Donating goods, sponsorhip or helping with fundraising activities

The Kitchen Garden program seeks sponsors and donations of dry goods for the cooking program or gardening supplies for the garden program. Contact Desley Insall for further information.

A range of fundraising events are held at the College each year. The main events include the Spring Fair and a stall at the Collingwood Children’s Farm Farmer’s Market.

The College community seeks to minimise the number of individual fundraising activities and instead focusses on several key events.

Parent participation in fundraising activities is entirely voluntary. However, many parents value the chance to meet other parents and to be more closely involved with the school community.

Donations and sponsorship from local businesses is a wonderful way to support the unique educational program at Collingwood.

Funds raised help to buy extra equipment and to enhance the learning environment.

Make a tax deductible donation

The College operates a Building Fund which is registered with the Tax Office. All donations over $2 are tax deductible and no donation is too small to make a difference.

All contributions are used for building improvements and supporting the educational programs at the school.

If you are a College parent, and don’t have the time to participate in College fundraising acitivities, making a donation to the Building Fund is a great way to help the College and support your child’s education, and it’s tax deductible!

To make a donation now:

  • Send a cheque made payable to the ‘Collingwood College School Building Fund’ to Locked Bag 63, Abbotsford, 3067

All donors are sent an official receipt which can be used for tax purposes.
